| The St Albans Chamber Choir was founded in 1958 and has established itself as a major contributor to the musical life of the area and also further afield, particularly St Albans' German twin town of Worms. Under its new conductor, John Gibbons, the choir strives for the highest standard of performance in varied and exciting programmes. These feature music familiar and less well known, from the fifteenth to the twenty-first century, including works commissioned from contemporary composers. The choir is of a size that enables it to perform music ranging from intimate a cappella pieces to larger multi-part works. It regularly engages professional orchestras and soloists. |
