  Activity Exchange offers free Email Groups.


Q. What is an Email Group?
A. An Email Group is a group of Email Addresses that have a single common Group Email Address. When you send an Email to the Group Address a copy of it will be sent to everyone in the Email Group. It is very like the Distribution Lists that you are probably used to at work but the difference is that an Email Group is defined externally.

Q. What advantage does the Activity Exchange Email Groups have over commercial offerings?
A. Very Simple. No Ads. The content of your emails is not interfered with in any way.

Q. What is my Clubs Email Group Address?
A. It is based on your Clubs Name. If your Club is called My Club then the Group Email Address will be EmailGroup.MyClub@ActivityExchange.com (as with all email addresses, upper and lower case do not matter).

Q. How do I define the Members of my Clubs Email Group?
A. All the people that you have listed in your list of Persons are automatically a member of your Clubs Email Group. Obviously they will need an email address to have been defined for them.

Q. Can anyone send an Email to my Clubs Email Address?
A. Yes and No. Emails sent to your Clubs Email Group must have come from a Member of that Group. To be exact they must have been sent from an email address that belongs to a member of the Email Group.

Q. Are there any restrictions on what emails can be sent?
A. None at all. Activity Exchange simply copies and re-directs the email to the members of the Email Group. This means that emails can have attachments for instance.

Q. Is my email address revealed?
A. If you only ever receive emails then your email address will not be revealed. When you send an email to the Email Group the other members will get that email as being from your email address which will reveal it to them. This is normal for Internet Email.

Q. How do I know my Email has got through?
A. As you are a member of the Email Group you will also get a copy. This is your confirmation that is has been received and sent out. As with all Internet Email there is no guarantee that all the emails will be delivered and read by who they were sent to.

Q. What happens if I send an email from an email address that is not part of the Group?
A. You will get a message telling you what the problem is so you will be able to fix it.

Q. What happens if I send an email to my Clubs Email Group but it has been disabled?
A. You will get a message telling you what the problem so you can get in touch with your Club about it.

Q. Will I get more Spam through the Email Group?
A. No. This is a closed Group.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. It is a free service.

Q. How do I get this Enabled?
A. It is enabled by default. If you have previously Disabled it and you want it Enabled then please get in touch with us and ask us to "Enable the Email Group" for your Club. You can use our Feedback Form Feedback
