Personal Passwords - Frequently Asked Questions

  Q. What are Personal Passwords?
A. A Personal Password is one that belongs to you and you only. This identifies you, the club you belong to and what level of access you are allowed to your clubs information.

Q. How long do Personal Passwords last?
A. Personal Passwords never expire.

Q. Do I have to remember my Personal Password and enter it every time I visit Activity Exchange?
A. If you tick the "Remember Me on this computer" box on the Home Page then Activity Exchange will remember any Passwords you put in including your Personal Password. As Personal Passwords don't expire then if you do this you will never have to re-enter your Personal Password.

Q. Can I have more than one Personal Password?
A. Yes and No. You can only have one Personal Password for each club or organisation that you belong to but you can have Personal Passwords from any number of clubs.

Q. Can my Personal Password be changed?
A. Yes it can. This may be needed if you lose or forget your Personal Password or if it has been compromised. At present this needs to be done by your club so please get in touch with them.

Q. What access levels can go with a Personal Password?
A. There are four. None, User, Organiser and Master.

Q. What do the different levels of Password allow you to do?
A. None does not allow anything that is not available to the public. User allows you to view Private or Hidden Activities or other content such as Picture Albums. Organiser allows you to do the same as User and you can add content and change content you've added. Master allows you to do the same as Organiser and you can change any content that's been added by anyone and you can alter the Clubs details.

Q. What is the point in having a Personal Password with an access level of None?
A. This allows Activity Exchange to fill in certain details on Forms such as your Name and Phone Numbers.

Q. Who sets the access level that goes with my Personal Password?
A. This is done by your club.

Q. What are the advantages to the Club in Personal Passwords?
A. Personal Passwords allow better tracking of who is adding content in your Clubs name. This can provide enough added confidence to allow more people to have increased levels of access. Also clubs will get more benefit from Activity Exchange by making it easier for members to use.

Q. Are there any disadvantages to a Club in Personal Passwords?
A. Yes. Someone has to add and maintain member information in the Person section and you have to educate your members about it.

Q. Can I choose my Personal Password?
A. No. This is in the interest of security.

Q. Where can I use my Personal Password?
A. Anywhere that Activity Exchange prompts for a Password. The box on the Home Page would be a good place.

Q. Is there an alternative to Personal Passwords?
A. Yes there is. This is Group Passwords that are for distribution to a number of members. Find out more here.
